izakaya, the stay-drink-place

Inspired by the rustic, cozy bars of Osaka’s nightlife, we established Yakitori 38 with the dream of bringing authentic Japanese flavours to Canberra’s CBD. Executive chef Guno’s experience working under chef Marco Pierre White and other venues provided him with the skills to create memorable, authentic, and unique dishes. Following the Japanese restaurant style izakaya, the sharestyle plates are excellent for group dining or a late night snack, and pair wonderfully with the beverages on offer at the bar.

Bar manager Sarah draws from her mixology experience to source unique Japanese drinks and spirits, and produce a menu of signature cocktails and beverages. A wide range of sake and umeshu is also available, with premium options suitable for even the most discerning palette.

The combination of izakaya styled dishes and Japanese-inspired beverages provide the complete experience for those looking for a refreshing location in the Canberra nightlife scene.
